Some of us tend to overload our systems by installing every font we can find...
Eventually there comes a time when you will need to start deleting some of these fonts.
You will learn how to store fonts without installing them in our group.
However this is information everyone should know.
Well, there is something extremely important that is needed to allow some programs to correctly work.
That would be system default fonts.
Even though you may never use these fonts, some programs may
rely on them in order to function properly. For instance, Windows.
Windows uses a variety of its default fonts when using specific system settings.
To delete these could possibly disrupt or even corrupt the way the OS works overall.
I have put together a list of default fonts for both Windows and Macintosh which is provided below.
These are just SOME of the system default fonts that you DO NOT, for any reason,
want to remove from your system font list.
The list below is standard for all versions of software for that specific company.
It does not include version specific fonts.
For a full list, go to Microsoft.com and do a search for your specific OS
(i.e. Windows Xp, Windows 98 etc).
For Macintosh users, go to Macintosh.com and search for your version as well.
Keep in mind, other programs such as Adobe, will install default fonts as well.
Those are usually listed in the help area of the program or in the program instruction guide.
For details, check with that programs user guide to know if they are needed to allow
that specific program to run properly.
